Peat has a long history within the whisk(e)y industry. It’s arguably one of the most vital resources in Scotch production and has even made its way across oceans, rooting into Japan and other global markets. For this event, our group will explore peat in three different expressions:
Monshō Peated Pure Malt - a peated Japanese blended whisky *origins of this whisky are a bit foggy
Westland Distillery Solum (1st Edition) American Single Malt Whiskey - the first American peated whisk(e)y of its kind
Bruichladdich Octomore 13.1 Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky - a heavily peated, over-the-top experiment on the limits of peat in Scotch
Cost: $35/person
Location: TBD by participation
This will be a tremendously fun and engaging event. We hope to see you there!
